James awoke to the sound of birds chirping outside, the morning sun peeking into the window to let him know it was time to get up. Looking to the empty side of the bed, the skunk could tell that his better half Flash had already gone to the market to do some shopping. Between the two of them, James always was the one to sleep late. He hadn't even put a shirt on yet, but felt compelled to go out on the front porch and take in the environment for a while. The neighborhood had not yet begun to come to life, and the stillness in the air made him feel so relaxed. It had been so long since he and Flash settled down in this quiet neck of the woods, and not once had he ever gotten tired of it. Smiling happily to himself, James took a deep breath before letting out a content sigh. "Ah...what a beautiful morning! I can't wait for Flash to get home so we can go enjoy the day!"
