I was meditating between classes and I came upon a flood of words that I quickly wrote down in my phone. It is a short poem. My sister and her fiances INSIST that I am more like this animal than anything else.
Perhaps they are right... It is untitled and like most poetry that doesn't have an official title their first line becomes the title so: I am a turtle. I did sign my real name because authors can run through hoops with a pen name and I'd rather not get all crazy with this or that in legalities.

I am a turtle
by: S.C. Groom
I am a turtle
I swim in an ocean of sound
Under sea wings - propelling me ever onward
Flying between prose and voice;
I scuttle along the shorelines of psychedelic color
My home is between worlds,
My home is the imagination,
My home is within my heart .
