And I thought the R32 was a small car! That British Racing Green Mini Cooper S is my roommate's new ride, one he's wanted even before he has his Scion xA. And it wasn't until we were looking at them side-by-side like this that I realized it is a tiny car! It's a wonder I fit in it at all when we go places.

Size doesn't matter, I suppose. It's still packing a 172hp turbocharged four under the hood. And it weighs a little less than the R (I'm sure missing the whole AWD drivetrain helps a lot). And it is definitely nimble when it comes to darting around on the freeway.

But now I understand why my Dad was quite surprised at the amount of room the R has under the hatch. I would be hard-pressed to fit my one suitcase in the back of the Mini without dropping the seats, while it fits comfortably in the R. In the Mini, it's even possible to scoot the front seats back so far they contact the rear seat cusion, leaving literally no legroom for rear passengers.

It's a... small car...

(P.S. I'm going to post a picture in scraps from my cell of the R parked next to a Ford full-size pickup, for reference. So look at that, then think of the Mini being even smaller) ^_^
