I found it to be alright. I loved it at first, but then I realized that it was really trying way too hard to be a cult classic. You can't aim to be a cult classic - it doesn't work that way - so Contact fell short and is left standing with the old memes and nonsensical plot points it tossed around to seem iconoclastic. Too bad.
i know..i remeber getting to the naked chef...i was like..this is weired. Not really in the earthbound kinda way..or something similar. Also i got tired of burning food. Oh yea..and having to wait half an hour to play the game becuase you had to boat everywhere. That in my opinion...was a really piss poor decision.
The way you work your magic with that default set of colours...
That brick pattern, and the colours included, is quite interesting to look at. The way they're constructed them is very neat, but you've got a good balance of natural spontaneity in there with the cracks and wobbly edges in some areas. It's a hard thing to get rihgt IMO. Also I like how his eyes have a glint in them, but no visible eye white, even though the lash line allows for plenty of it. It's an unexpected, but cool-looking, effect, because it maintains the general seriousness of the scene, whereas adding the eye white would have made it look quite cartoony, and would have detracted from that. I don't know if that's the style in the game, but it looks good.
