ManuKoa spent the better part of his day drawing out He and his sweety's initials in the sand at the favorite beach. As he finishes he looks up nervously as the sun had begun to set and she had not yet arrived. The tide began to race toward his work and he darted here and there in the water trying to stop the inevitable. He sulked as he stood and watched his creation covered in the ocean. "Aloha dear!" Kalena softly lighted down onto a branch that over looked the shore. "oh Kalena" Manukoa chirped happily,"Im so happy to see you!", he flew to sit next to his love on the branch. "Whats the matter, you look so down,burdy" she cooed softly as he hugged her. "Well I was going to surprise you with something on the shore I worked on all day"...he gestured with his wing and her eyes followed. As the shore receded the giant heart with their initials drawn into the sand appeared before her. "Manu! Its so beautiful!" she exclaimed. Manukoa's beak hung agape for the tide did not destroy his work! "Thank you dear, glad you like it. I'm so happy you made it back this evening."
They glazed into each others eyes lovingly and touched beaks softly as they enjoyed the warm Hawaiian sunset.
