Thanks to taefaros for letting me use his picture as a warm-up!
When I saw him upload this picture it was a real kick in the pants. Maybe it's my disappointment in Rare's current franchises that makes it so exciting to see their characters drawn by other artists. At any rate, I would love it if I could work with Rare redoing franchise designs from my childhood. The BK and Jet Force Gemini franchises are dying for some new blood. I wonder if that's a realistic goal for me.

I love that moment when you catch one of the artists you watch on the front page. Especially when they drew something that makes you go "Ooh!" and click on it to look without even realizing who drew it (though I did think it LOOKED like your style, just... figured that was coincidence)
ANYWAY. I for one would vote for you. Not that that would be a voting process, and not that I'd get asked to vote even if it was, but in magical theory land where people get voted into jobs by random schmucks, I'd cast my vote for you! BK totally needs some love. I actually re-started the first game a couple days ago since it'd been several years. While I am not one to hate on a system and game doing the best it could at the time, I do have to admit after playing more modern games I did come to the conclusion I'd really love to see them re-release the N64 BK games all fancied up (so long as they don't change a bunch of shit like they did with Conker's. Hopefully there'd be less to change but who freaking knows, censors are WEIRD.)
Anyway I babbled enough. This excited me, good job. =D

Thanks for the compliment! BK & BT were released in HD on the XBox Live Arcade, if it's any consolation.
There is a large portion of my mind spent on resurrecting the feelings I experienced playing games like these when I was young. I don't think the IPs have aged well at all, but it's good to know even Banjo Kazooie holds its own when playing today. Even with twelve years of dust on it it still shines beautifully.

I think that Rare is (or was?) just plain good at making video games. They have a way with character and level design and gameplay mechanics that just works so well. Sadly, the only recent thing I've played of theirs was the first two Viva Pinata games, which are actually quite fun to sit back and relax to. It's got their sense of character design, the various fun noises, and music that works well over long periods of time. My bout of playing that was what made me yearn to play BK again, actually.
I did not know that about BK+BT! Oh wow, thanks for letting me know. Now I want THAT shiny goodness instead of finishing the game on my N64 I just opened up Mad Monster Mansion (spooky levels were ALWAYS win with me as a kid. And now. :P) so I could still restart with little frustration. Plotting plotting.

I swear I had a phobia of water levels when I was younger. In BK I would play up to
Clanker's Cavern and stop without ever raising him up. Likewise in Mario 64 I would
avoid Dire Dire Docks and Jolly Roger Bay like the plague. I was so scared of
drowning in-game. the tension just got to me! XD

One of the most light-hearted and catchy soundtracks I've ever heard in a game. not one bad tune.
awesome pic. I love your warm-up/wind-down pics. They just seem so loose and expressive. Im sure Rare will hire you so long as you put eyeballs on every inanimate object you draw for them lol

SHEEEEEEIIT!
Oh man oh geez oh wow, this is like everything I ever wanted in my go at it. The Stigmata™ brand brush economy is one of my favorite things... ever (yes, ever, you're that high up!) and the way you handle edges and draw so much information in so little time is turning this into a run on sentence. And what a difference a little format change makes. You can describe so much without hampering or cluttering the image. Eeee, LEARNING EXPERIENCE.
Also, this. Just this. This. http://twitter.com/mingyjongo

Looks like I clearly underestimated how much you'd like this! Thanks for the flattery, you!
That Twitter account is pretty exciting. I'm hesitant to follow it as people don't seem to be interested in doing a new BK so much as an off-shoot. But I'll follow it regardless. Maybe something good will come of it.

wow, this art is absolutely superb grade fan art, you do the best fan art, in fact you should do just fan art. do you take requests? I wanna see the pink power ranger suplexing kirby to assert their pink character dominance, some explosions and flames would be cool. thanks :)
