Went about 4 miles, only to find out that the lighting was bad for my photos, and as soon as I started walking back, it started pouring for the second time today. Ugh. Of course, the only good photo that I took was this one, and this one was 50 feet outside of the parking lot, and I took it on my way towards where I was going to take my photos. Gah. I need more practice. And exercise. I'm getting out of shape.

When it comes to photography, especially in the digital age, quality trumps quantity anytime, and this photograph is a clear example of that. Though you had only gotten one photograph that you had liked this one is quite nice especially with the different shades of greens intermixed with some browns. The water droplets look crystal clear, and they enhance the shot by almost looking like miniature magnifying glasses.
I like this shot because it is simple, but there is a lot going on in it if one pays close attention.

Thank you! Really, it was spur-of-the-moment. I stood still for a moment to change my iPod from Hans Zimmer to Thomas Bergerson, and I saw this near the ground, so I thought, 'hey, why not?' *click* *click* 'ooh, the white balance is off.' *click*
It seems that a lot of my shots that I like are the ones that I don't really pay attention to at the time that they were taken. I may have to try this tactic more often.

A classic shot, nicely executed. I enjoyed your remark about "the shots I like are the ones that I don't really pay attention to." That's how I felt about my "Don't Walk Away From Me" picture of the lawn chair, where I did it randomly and off-the-cuff without putting any thought into it... then loved the perspective and colors afterward.

Thank you! I've been considering this tactic, and so far, the photos that turn out best do tend to be the ones that I just take without a second thought. There are exceptions, of course, such as the shots that are set up (e.g. my smoking apple pics, the steel wool ones as well, pretty much anything taken in a very controlled situation, etc.), or things like that.
