Hux prepares to demonstrate that the concept of elephants being afraid of rodents is most definitely just a myth...
This one might seem a bit of an anomaly when compared to most of my online work to date and indeed the majority of content on this site, but I've decided to post it here anyway. It has always struck me that elephants, despite being the largest land-roaming creatures of the present day, don't seem to feature heavily (ha-ha) in the macro community. The impression I get is people either see elephants as not very appealing to look at or generally see their feet as rather boring objects. I believe however that it's the simplicity of the elephant foot that makes it appealing - as a crush fan, there are few animals with more uncompromising crushing tools than elephants. Hence, my elephant, Hux!
This is the first time Hux has appeared in public but I've been drawing elephants on-and-off for a good few years now. I know there are other elephant fans out there because I've spoken to a few of them, so this is for that neglected collective of elephant stomp fans, though hopefully it might interest a few other people as well.

Oh trust me, the stuff I post makes it look like I found it far easier than I actually did. This is honestly the first time I've really nailed this kind of angle with any four-legged creature, and even this required me to start it again 3 times because the composition meant it wasn't going to fit the sheet of paper. Plus I actually had to completely redraw Hux's head after everything else was done because it just wasn't big enough for the proportions of his body.
POV and low-angle perspectives like this are very tough and they do require a lot of practice. I've done a lot of POV foot stomping pics since joining the community, but I swear until about 5 months ago I was absolutely hopeless at them even though I'd been trying for years. I think only now have I finally discovered the knack, if you like.

And lookee here! I should apply for this job, since elly-o-fants is getting scarce.
Look, if you wish, I will be quite happy to set you up in a discussion forum with Hux so you can debate the issue for as long as you like... I can't quite guarantee that it won't end in a massive rampage on his part, but... meh... if you're gonna prove your point, I suppose that's the time to do it...
XD Lol!!
Thanks mate. :)

Ah! Tearyel! I had no idea that was you! :)
Oh no-no-no-no, Mr. RRRex is by no means exclusively scaly. Take a browse around my site and you'll see my other non-scaly characters. Though yes, I have to admit, the scalies do preoccupy most of my macro art time, as can be seen from the sheer amount of scaly art on that site at the moment in comparison to the rest of it!! Lol!

I may not be as much a crush enthusiest as you are, But I do like the idea of micro/macro trample with other, less desired characters such as equines and elephants.
It'd be nice to see some more of this should ya get the urge, and as selfish (And freakish) as it'll sound. I wish this sorta thing was easyer to find in the mucks'n other roleplay based places.

Crud... sorry about the fave Rex... I was going for the full view button. >_<
Anyways, now that I see this, I feel I must tell you this.
In the TV show Mythbusters (on Discovery Channel) they did this myth to see if elephants really are afraid of mice and... the results were unexpected. They hid the mouse in a ball of elephants poo (yes...) and reveal the mouse when WILD elephants passed by and... they didn't jumped or ran away, but they DID noticed the mice and went AROUND him, with caution.
