I cheated: they're mostly made out of slub wool, which is big, chunky uneven wool that you can get in huge amounts of colours because lol, dyes. I get most of mine in bulk from collinette.com or dreadzonheadz.com, depending on what I want. Colinette sell hanks of delicious coloured marbled wool, whereas D.O.H. sell for use in braiding into real hair for dreads, so do UV reactive colours and so on.

I also added lots and lots of plastic tubing and flat plastic tape, so that takes up a lot of bulk, too. The only "ingredient" that I actually made was the green synthetic dreads, which I made my backcombing a large quantity of UV green kanekalon fibre and rolling and steaming it until it made a lovely cone. <3

Quite easy, all in all - just time consuming. If you want gorgoeus hairpieces, I recommend nevermind-creations.com and missneedles.com, both of whom I swear by.

My real hair is long, blonde and unruly. You know the Lupie!werewolf? Just like that. Colour and everything.

I am of the opinion that there is synthetic hair to suit everyone. I'm making myself some shaggy blonde ringlet dreads to wear to college next week. :D

I did, yes! Out of wool, synthetic dreadlocks and plastic. :D Oh, and accented with foam. I tried making wigs once, but they just took so long! I don't have the patience to sew up all that base...

i am not one for the whole fake hair thing, but i do admit it does look nice and bright. i am just one for bleach, and dying my own hair a bright beautiful color, but once again, you do look lovely with those!

Fake hair is my only option, really: I love my natural hair colour and texture, so synth. stuff is excellent if I just want to change it for the night or something. :)

see then it is perfect! i have even thought about clip on hair extensions, because i work at disneyland and my only option is natural colored hair, or to wear a wig at work. and about half of the year i am wearing a wig because of my purple or blue hair. but for some reason i just like the color of my real hair to be strange and unusual , to me it just isn't the same when i walk home and i can pull my hair out..
