New Doctor Who fan, or have you been a fan for a while?

And which Doctor is your favourite?

I've know about Dr. Who for a while but only started watching it recently. And because I've only seen the 11th doctor so far, he'd have to be my favorite : )

Oh, you should go back and watch the other segments as well!

As far as I'm concerned, the series is split up in four parts.

Doctors 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are the classics. Doctor 8 was the movie only, Doctors 9 and 10 were the Russell T. Davies era (Absolutely brilliant, excellent seasons) and 11 is written by Steven Moffat. (Still good, but he's very different and he lacks some of the stuff that Russell did really well).

It's probably easiest to go back to Doctors 9 and 10 and watch it from there. The movie is pretty old but you wouldn't tell from the refinement, although it does have a bit of an American "over the top drama" feel to it.

As for the classic doctors, I found the third doctor pretty easy to watch, the fourth doctor is THE face of the Doctor Who classics, and the seventh Doctor is my personal favourite.

And with the way the Doctor's luck has been working out recently, Susan will probably end up having to jump into a black hole or something in order to keep reality from falling apart.

10 and 11 seem to have very...dramatic partings with their companions...
