challenge day: 05 - mermaid. Well, merman in this case

I wanted something new...for ME anyway. I've never seen a indian/african-ish mermaid. Black on "black" is a no brainer cliche to me, but I rarely see it. So I gave myself a pass. And I rarely, if ever, do mermaids this close to the western traditional versions.

story time/
The last time I did a mermaid this close to the traditional western depiction was in kindergarden or pre-school (can't remember exactly, but I know I was but 5 or 6).

I do remember the image i did though: it was a bunch of mermaids who were killing sailers for polluting their home. I remember I drew mermaids with a red tail who were the "executioners". They had long ass red nails to cut up the sailers: who had cuts and were bleeding and such.

I wish I still had that picture somewhere.

Another thing...this is the first intentional eye candy I did completely for myself. I tried for a merman who (if I was a more trusting person, and if I was a man), that I would fall for if I was a pirate or sailer in the old/ancient days.

AND, I tried taking a feminine-type pose and making it masculine.
