Looking awesome I think is the pre-requisite for anything. But yes, it helps blend in to the various shadows of foliage.. plus in his case the tiger is his spirit animal. If he can ever get over his problem of not being able to work magic, maybe he'll be able to tap into that some more and transform. For now he just looks good.
