(Nothing to do with furries, once again !)
A lengthy RE project of my own (not paid), initiated by a friend who's as curious and childish as me.
This little box can control the streetlights of about 150 French cities, as long as it's in range (100m) of the district's control box.
It's based on a pretty basic radio system invented in the 90's, but which is still actively used today.
I only had one of their receiver modules to start with, and only could get to talk to it recently after the purchase of a spectrum analyzer (very narrow band FSK). Slapped together an AVR, a DDS module and an RF amp together + a pretty big firmware with a city code/frequency set and scan functions :)
I feel very powerful now. NOT :|
Casing looks awful because I was stupid enough to clean the transparent cover with acetone: it became almost opaque. Had to cut a hole to see the LCD :/

This is cool.
Neat project.
In the states, traffic lights have a radio receiver in them so emergency vehicles can switch to a green light.
Apparently certain universal remotes support this frequency and can be reprogrammed with a simple firmware flash.
Oh, and you wouldn't happen to know anything about FPGA's or ASIC's as applies to BitCoin mining, would you?
