So much work (Outstanding Commissions update, please read)
Alrighty, let's try writing on a submission instead of a journal since everyone LOVES reading my journals XP
Right on, let's get to business.
A bit about me:
Moi
I am a very passionate lifelong furry and artist. One of my visions for the fandom is that every fur should have a picture of their character. I'm not trained/qualified in my art but I am always happy to teach what I know.
My job
I am a self taught furry artist who works from home, I exclusively draw furries. Other than DJing once a week and fixing the odd PC for someone now and then, this is my main source of income.
I work for myself, and by myself. Aside from Kyo, Kal or Kristan (the KKK XP) helping me out in-stream, with references or with comments in commission journals, I have to do everything myself. I cannot hire someone to assist me getting the work done.
My prices and tipping:
I work hard and with a heavy workload to keep the commission prices low and affordable.
Your tips help me keep the commissions low-priced so I can keep it that way.
The last month:
What happened:
TLDR avoidance so, long story short:
Took too much work, worked too much and slept too little, burned out. Stress due to late commissions got to me and I had to poof for a month or so. Had some me time, recharged the batteries and back full blast.
Aftermath:
Unfortunately, not working for a month and having to be a primary support toward my family, pay rent like everyone else etc. has completely drained me of my finances. Hence I have needs that have to be dealt with before I can carry on with older work.
Currently:
I have taken on more work on an already hefty workload in an effort to catch up with serious payments and am dealing with the minor ones as they come.
Regarding Crops and the reposting of artwork:
Crops: Most group pictures I do come with a cropped version. Unfortunately cropping is a great pain in the arse for me, and having to choose between finishing more work and catching up crops, I tend to lean more toward actual drawing.
All crops will be updated before month end though, so Cat's on it, don't stress.
Can I respost my commission or crop?
YES! You paid for it, it's yours. I just ask you keep my signature on the image, and an
if you're posting to FA.
Snooziefloof Pile:
The what?
Snooziefloofs are little chibis we are packing in a pile that will be 250 in the end. It is, to my knowledge, the biggest floofpile with actual furries' characters ever created.
Progress:
All the slots have been filled, and 130/250 have been completed. They are not being done in any particular order, but viewers in-stream are prioritised since obviously they are there to see their fur being drawn.
It's progressing nicely, there will be a stream tomorrow (Monday) aiming to get 30 more done. Progress on this piece is not made off-stream aside from composition.
Make a critter rules updates:
Whats that?
Make a critter is a game we play in-stream, where I:
-Start off with a base character (usually a cat, dog or dragon)
-In-stream viewers make one ink and one color change each
-The character is given a temporary name and species, then offered as a free adoptable.
Issues:
I have had:
-complaints from people that I am giving out all the adoptables in-stream instead of waiting until I have posted.
-people who took the adoptables and have not used them, this is part of the agreement when you adopt the character.
-unreasonable nagging to update the mini-refsheet that comes with the character after it is flattened.
Rules:
Here are some ground rules so we all understand each other and play nice together.
- First and foremost, this is a free service I am providing. You are not paying for the stream, you are not paying for the entertainment, you are not paying for the character. I expect appreciation for it, not problems.
-If the changes on the character become too extreme that it looks like a christmas tree and a crack smoking chameleon had a mutant baby, I have the right to step in and make alterations to make the character more presentable. My stream, my artwork, and my character until he is adopted out. I will not do this if unnecessary though.
-If more than one person in-stream would want the adoptable, it is my choice and my choice alone who should receive him, unless otherwise stated in-stream. You may be asked what you plan to do with the character and I will choose with who he will be better off. Do not has a sad if you don't get it, there will be many, many more opportunities to get one of these.
-My viewers in-stream have first pick on the character because well, they helped create it. If none of the viewers wish to adopt him, he is posted and goes to the first person who posts asking for him.
-When I say "free to a good home" it means you have to use the character, even if just once in a year. If you don't wish to use the character any longer, you can tell me and I will rehome him.
-After you adopt the character you MAY upload the reference sheet I post on FA. You may also rename and alter his appearance, the character is your property now. I will not make the alterations though, it is up to you to draw / write / sing / burp about your character.
I think that about covers it, I will update if I think of anything else.
Agorrables / Zombie Chibi Swarm:
A Gore A Ble:
1) noun - the perfect blend of cute and gore. Basically a chibi furry zombie.
I am making a swarm and painting a background which will be uploaded on Halloween as a full picture, the WIPS and crops of individual agorrables are posted though.
Progress:
These are not due until the end of the month, and are being done offline inbetween other work. 50/50 slots have been filled and 6 zombies have been drawn. The final will be uploaded on Halloween, the day before for Americans.
Chibi Day:
Chibi Day?
Chibi Day is a project where I draw chibis for furries who don't have a picture of their character, free of charge to those furs.
How it's funded
I need to earn around $40 per day to make ends meet, so I put some of my tips toward this, and many people donate so we can do this. Furries who have self-pics are welcome to join in the group picture for a $5 fee. Some of this goes to the next chibi day, and that's how we can get more furries pictures.
Funds:
We currently have enough funds for three more chibi days.
Where's the last chibi day pic?
There were so many chibis I had to make two seperate images! One is up and cropped, and the other has a little cropping left to do. I need to post these with both icon and chibi crops so please bear with me a little longer. As stated above, all cropping will be updated before month end.
The next chibi day?
Due to my unexpected burnout, the last one has been skipped, but I plan to host one next Sunday, the 14th. More information and a promotional chibi will be posted with all the information.
Camping Trip Group Picture:
I intend on streaming this in the week following. Updates will be posted later.
Plush Party:
I intend on streaming this in the week following. Updates will be posted later.
Beach Picture:
Beach?
A large group picture done a few months ago with a beach theme.
Progress
The long awaited finalized beach picture. It's actually just about finished, but certain smartassed artists accidently flattened some of the layers together making it extremely difficult to crop. So I've actually been repairing this and cropping inbetween.
When will it be posted?
As stated above, all crops will be posted before month end. I will not be posting a hires picture however, I've had a few problems with people thieving my art. You will receive a hires copy but it will be heavily watermarked. I will, however, make prints available to you. More on that when the post goes up.
400 Challenge:
400 what?
400 icons. Yes, 400 - to raise $4000. It's a little more than what we actually need, but it covers postage costs and prints since these are included for you as well.
$4000 FOR WHAT???
To get my mother free of debt since it has gotten to the point where I am having to pay for most of the bills and food in the house. I also have a mortgage on my shoulders and I cannot risk not being able to pay it.
TLDR, It's a pain in the ass and I have barely $100 for my own needs at the end of the month, additionally the stress is making my mother sick.
WHERE ARE THE PRINTS?
They have NOT been mailed yet. I will email you when I mail the prints out. The money that was available for the prints had to be used for the exact things we are trying to raise money for. It is a viscious circle and may take a little longer before I can mail them.
I have a batch printed here and I have shown them to viewers in-stream, so we are halfway there. Again, just bear with me a little longer.
When will you be finished?
I intend to have the challenge completed before the end of 2012. I am giving myself a month's leniency since it IS a lot of work, I hope you will too.
What then?
All the icons will be printed and glued onto a large canvas. It will be framed and hung in my studio.
Animated icons:
Phoan icons etc.
Again as with other things, burnout, repetition, too much work and too little slack. The outstanding animated icons will be completed before the end of the month. You may politely request a refund if you don't wish to wait longer, email me electrocat[at]electrocat.co.za
30 Flats series:
There are still a dozen or so flats outstanding. These will be completed before 2012 is out and I will be sending you notes when I catch up with them. You may politely request a refund if you don't wish to wait longer, email me electrocat[at]electrocat.co.za
Older commissions:
Older things that got left behind or forgotten will be caught up on. All the information is in my notes and they will be got to. You may politely request a refund if you don't wish to wait longer, email me electrocat[at]electrocat.co.za
Any questions, shoot me an email electrocat[at]electrocat.co.za since I have not had a chance to catch up on notes yet. There are almost 300 to go through.
Thank you for your understanding, and looking forward to getting all these bad boys done!

Greetings Electrocat. Well I didn't want to write this over a note because I felt it would be appropriate for everyone else to see. I want to say this. that threw out my many years of being part with the furry community and a lifelong furry too, u have been by far one of the most dedicated artists i have ever seen who is totally passionate toward helping your mother, and i have just recently started watching u on FA. Respect! you have what many families lack in today's western civilization- principle, culture, and a creed of customs. And because of this lacking of founding guidlines too many families dwindle away- at least i have noticed. Even Where I am from out here in Germany I have noticed this same problem. I am simply inspired by your dedication from one artist to the next. you understand the meaning of sacrifice- and so do i. I am in the armed forces for 6 years now. I was suppose to get out after my tour in afghanistam in 2010, but I decided to stay 4 more years (two years ago that is) to help my mother out with money and family. Now i am reunited here in Germany with my younger siblings who i am proud to say my little brother (10 yrs old) is now loving school because of my help. I just wanted to share that with you even though you have probably heard it a million of times- well now its a million in one times :D Best regards to you, your family, and your lovely mother. be blessed and don't over work your sweet self.
see ya around and hopefully we can keep a long distant friendship growing- I would love to visit Africa
