I saw you on the thursday prompt and thought come over and introduce myself. I read this particular chapter and actually am pretty impressed by the work. I'm not generally used to first person, but you did a pretty good job making me feel like I was that person. Maybe you mentioned this in your earlier chapters...but I am interested in your rank structure. I'm guessing that the rank structure difference between Raven and Gray were because maybe they were different branches of the military?

Thankyou very much. I've been experimenting with first person in this series, so I'm glad it's working. My military ranks are based off the model used by the Australian Defence Force. I use Navy ranks for regular Star Corps personnel like Raven, and a modified Arm structure for Ground Combat Division. GCD is actually a branch of Star Corps and not the Imperial Army, hence the use of terms such as Squadron instead of Company.

I've actually worked out most of this in a head canon - perhaps if you're interested I'll post it online.
