I got the idea for this story from an image I saw a while ago, but I've lost track of it since...It was just a simple portrait of a gray smiling dog/wolf, but for some reason it made this idea leap into my head.
I'm open to any and all serious criticism; feel free to let me know any way you think I might be able to improve. On that note, I'm not too sure how the whole adoption process works, so if someone wants to point out any details I have wrong, I would appreciate it.
Maybe it's not the best, but I've put a good bit of work into it, so here it is.
