This fanciful soft sculpture of a jellyfish was made from wool roving, hand painted silk ribbon and tencel by the time-consuming process of needle felting. I poke the fiber repeatedly with a barbed needle to form the shape.
It has a thread on top for hanging on a Christmas tree, or from the top of your window, your ceiling, or anywhere else you need some beachy whimsy. These look great in a group. (A group of jellyfish is called a bloom, a swarm, or a smack!)
Credit goes to my friend Kathy McGuire, who made the first and best needlefelted jellyfish that I saw.
4 in (10 cm) long
For indoor display.
