It seems a custom now that the Worldcon for next year makes a gift of some token or other to all the nominees for the Hugo Award at the current worldcon. In this case, Lonestar 3 in San Antonio presented this lacquer pin to the nominees at Chicon 7, in Chicago. I wasn't able to attend myself, but a friend brought my pin back to me later. It is a tiny bit less than 2 inches long and a bit more than 1 inch wide. The fastener is a steel pin on the reverse, with a rubber stopper. As you can see, scanning the reverse side created a blurry image because the pin could not be laid flat on the glass. As you might expect, it reads "Hugo Nominee" I'm not a big fan of "primitivist" art, but it has a charm of its own. If ever I wear all my pins and other crap I'm going to resemble Herman Goring at a children's birthday party.
