Visually, this has to be one of my favorite pages so far. Not much happens - Rod just continues to walk up this infernal staircase - but I really enjoyed drawing the whole thing. The markings on the bird-thing are loosely based off of red tailed hawks; this is only because they're the most common bird of prey in my area, and so I get to see them so often that it just sort of came naturally to me.

it's a comic book on comics. their origin, their varioants, their language, and so on. there are visual tips on how to set moods, how time passes in panels, and how to adjust that, theory and practical. also, it's fun to read. :)
the sequel, "Reinventing Comics" concentrates more on modern comics and their ways and methods. might be interesting, too.
