I have moments where I just want to break down, but like I said, all goes well we'll be back together by the end of the year.

Don't feel bad or upset about how the past year has been. It's very common to become depressed, detached or just numb to the world around you when someone close dies. There are always questions left unanswered and it can take a lot to fully understand that life must go on, both for yourself, and in memory of the one you lost. If that person was truly influential on your life, than they would want to see you happy and successful because of their guidance; not depressed because of their departure.

As for this picture, you did a gorgeous job with it. Everything about it, from the character posture and context, to the use of light and colors, all works so perfectly at capturing the mood and emotions. Just a beautiful job all around. <3

Thank you, I'm trying my best to keep going, doesn't help that my dog died two weeks ago as well. There always seems to be a lot of heartache where I live now but, gotta keep pushing on, right?
