This here is a 16x20 painting in acrylics of a dragon and a knight playing chess in a library. Gratitude for and shame on my man who, as I was blocking out this picture on a simple grassy field said, "Wouldn't it be cooler if they were in a library?" And then I had to repaint everything. It is awesomely better this way, though, so no regrets!

It is one of my deepest desires to someday own a scanner fancy enough so that I could have scanned this instead of having to photograph it. Badly. :(

Believe it or not, but this scene has been in my head for years. I just never got around to putting it on canvas before someone paid me to. Oh yes, this is a commission from my neighbors, Chris and JK. They just had their first baby, and because they are a cute, nerdy family, they wanted something suitably cute and nerdy to adorn the kid's bedroom wall.

I'm hoping that little Ian Christopher takes this painting with him when he goes away to college in eighteen years, or buys his first house. :D But then, I'm conceited like that.

Oh yes, the dragon is loosely based on a D&D silver dragon, but a lot of it is made up, so I don't even know if that counts. Eh, I referenced some silver dragons, so there you go.
