Oh definitely! I only showed good drawings here, a lot of my drawings from high school are REALLY ugly (and not just because I'm my own worst critic). Just keep drawing and you'll keep improving!

Wow, I feel so old now. I was graduating high school in 1997 when you were only 7. *sigh* And so talented at that tender age, too!

And yeah... I've always been drawing, so I guess that gave me a good start. My drawings were good for my age when I was little, but when I was in high school they were much less good than those of most people who like to draw. The quality really varied- some drawings were good and some just looked awful. It's because I never practised or read any books on how to draw, I never copied pictures or looked at references either, I just doodles. My drawings started getting better once I finally realized I wanted to try and get better at it, and I started studying and practising like crazy.

You can really tell how in 2004-2005 I start getting more active online and draw more, and how in 2006 I suddenly actually read into stuff and start using construction and such. In 2006 I pretty much ignored my school (I quit high school) and practised drawing all the time. You can really tell on that progress picture. I guess leaving school was educational in my case.

I'd love to see some of your old work! When did you start drawing?

I've been drawing since I was 2-3, according to my mom. I'll have to scan some of my REALLLLY old pieces next time I'm over at her place. She loves them and has kept several of my art pieces, but I think they're terrible. And I actually just uncovered whole notebooks full of stupid doodles and drawings from when I was in high school, so I'll see if I can't upload some of those for you.

I'd love to see that! We moved twice, so I don't really know where all my prime school stuff went. I hope I find it someday, that'd be a blast!

I hear that a lot, but though I know Walt Kelly now, I have yet to read Pogo comics. Back then I never heard of him, Pogo is not known here at all. I never saw the comics in a comic store, I'd have to ship them from the US.

Actually I think I kinda remember him, maybe from the depths of your dA gallery. And I think he looks good how you draw him now. I like revisiting old characters, I had these dumb cat/dog/mouse character I wrote comics about when I was 7-9 XD maybe I should draw them again.

I dipped, for some reason, an unsharpened pencil into a jar of indian ink and drew this.

It's copic markers with a pentel pocket brush pen on printing paper.
