uhm well, it's about Isaac's mother receiving a message from god, asking her to prove her faith by sacrificing Isaac, so he escapes from the situation by going into the basement and fighting monsters.
Other information is that it's a top down 2D platformer in which you control Isaac or the other unlockable characters as you explore the basement. You fight the monsters in the room you enter to unlock the next room or multiple doors you can choose from through to the boss door.
It's a fun, time wasting game that is good to play for amusement and a lot of the designs for it are really unique, even down to how characters attack.
