I started a twitter and a DA to accept commands from... and Ill start a tumblr for the non flash version with the individual images alone. That should cover my needs for this pet project. Hope this turns out as fun as I expect it to be!

Done. I wanted to do it by last night but it was beyond my reach and I didn't want to go to sleep without releasing these so I let them go early~
I spent like 2 hours trying various scripts trying to get one running that wouldn't absolutely break everything else. I failed because I'm too inexperienced with programming/ action script to know what I was doing wrong. All I knew was that 1 false move and all the buttons would stop working, each page would be flashing 10 times a second, and the song would start playing on top of itself over and over and wouldn't stop until the player crashed. I wish it was a simple matter of adding said feature but nope, lots of time was wasted making this viewer what it is when I imagine more experienced people could pump it out in five minutes.
Things I got stuck on included disabeling resizes/ window fitting to keep text legible, song looping (which turns out wasn't script based at all as I thought, it was an actual setting... ugh), and trying different ways to manage each 'page'... whether via individual layers, a combination of layers and key frames, or they way I did it now following a tutorial by having them all inside a movie clip and only adding new images per keyframe within this one object instead lf copy/pasting every button/etc per frame. I wish there was a streamlined way to make position snapping easier per paste but eh, I have a good system now and I'd rather not risk ruining it.

this... this feeling... it trully feels like the start of one of those awesome dark adventure games like The Dig, Flashback or Out of this World ;_; this is beautiful

I only recently learned of earthbound and giygas and such (found a scary music playlist on youtube xD) so all these others you mentioned kinda get on my list now~
Im starting to think, like that, both of them pull it up a bit too dramatic, especially since at least one had time to prep.
BUT the music is nothing but unforgiving (altho theres something else in it, I dont quite wanna call it hope) and the pics make an athmo even more dynamic than evangelion in my eyes. chilling and interesting, hope you do more (if you havent already *goes looking*)!
