Lessons About Fembae

Are you one of those furs like me who had a hard time thinking up their fursona? You spent lots of days and weeks coming up with ideas and thoughts about it, and JUST when you think you have a sure-fire character, you replace it with an even better character. In fact, you not only went through one or two fursonas, but in the whole lifetime of being a fur went through maybe 10 or more different characters?
THIS was the process I went through to think of Bae. This was only brought to my attention when I was filling out one of those meme journal things. Bae was never really just Bae, but a combination or a cycle from past fursonas I thought of. I'll get around to listing them all, but I want to draw attention to the subject matter: Fembae.
You know what really grinds my gears? Is when people will take their character, change the gender, and say something like, "This is the female version of so-and-so!" or "The is whats-her-face as a dude!" The things to follow would be vague ideas to give the character a name and background stories or whatnot, and this leads to one of my biggest pet peave jokes. They would draw a picture of their male and female fursona having sex, and....wait...can you guess what evvvvvverybody says?
"This puts a whole new meaning to 'Go fuck yourself!!!" lawl"
No. Not it doesn't. If there was anything "new" about this idea, you would be the original creator of this concept (Like She-Hulk...what the fuck, really?) I wouldn't say I hate it when people do this since hate is a strong word, but it does get on my nerves. It peeves me when people do things like this, when the reality of it is that its the same exact character, +/- boobs and or penis. There is no creativity behind this.
Why does this bug me? Well like I said, I went through a few fursonas when thinking of Bae, and I've been happy with my past projects that I wanted to keep drawing a few of them: namely Fembae. Believe it or not, I had Fembae before Bae himself, and even before that I had a character that was kinda Bae looking but with muscles and battle scars and all. When I thought it would be cool to have a female fursona to be different, I drew her buuuuunches of times! I have art books filled with Fembae stuff! I only switched to making Bae male because that was more me...
...being a guy and all .D.
And as much as I love her and want to draw her more and show all of you guys, I am horded by everyone else's half-assed ideas about making their fursonas an opposite gender for very shallow reasons (like sex or for a quick joke.) And its not just Bae with boooooobs -V- She has her own lifestyle! A background! She's not even the same color or design! For someone like me who spent so long to have a character like this, I want to be really clear about something.
I do nooooot want to be compared to the people who do that bad joke. That's pretty much it. I'm not all butt-hurt or anything over it, so I'm not a DRAMATIC BUNNY SPILLING HIS HEART OUT!!!!! I just don't want someone to think I'm following along that same path others have.
Shame on you who do! If you're going to do something like that, put some effort at least to make it an entirely different person, and not just "So-and-so as a male/female."
......
Oh, and apparently I'm not feeling any better yet. Talk to everyone whenever ever maybe ever maybe soon _V_
Can anybooooodyyyyyyyy...find me someone tooooooo looooooove~

Everyone loves the common, unique bunny, no matter what the gender, ne?
I have had similar trouble. o.o;
Nice idea/pic, tho. ^^

Wow... never saw such a lengty description. But informative! TwT I never knew that a lack of creativity bothered you so much. X3 Or at least, being associated with a lack of creativity. But that couldn't happen, regardless of what you do! You're one of the most creative people I know! I wish I had HALF your talent!
Sure, Bae may be simple, but there was so much work put into his fluffy rear, and you know that. =3 Bae is unique! And so is Fembae. =3 Both are awesome and loved.
Um... I don't know where this comment is going now, so I'll cut it off before it gets weirder. T.T
Much love.
Well its not just plain lack of creativity that gets to me, its when people do the same thing everyone else does over and over and THINKS its creative that bothers me. A lot of people like to try out drawing their characters in a different sex, and that's totally fine! I jsut don't like the whole bad jokes and awkward sex pictures that follow it .~.
Buuuuut I never seen another yellow rabbit like mine, so I take it personally maybe XD I just like to remain in my constant uniqueness and not be passed off as generic off brand; like the malt-o-meal of bunnies .3.
And...you know, I don't know how to end this either
But at least you already know I'm weird, so its too late to cut this off from being more weird .V.
So does it bother you if someone does something common, but accepts and admits that it's been done before? I'm not sure why I'm asking all these questions. XP I guess I just want to make sure that I don't get on your nerves.
But to answer ya, I don't know of anyone that would admit to something like that :/ You mean like people who do the same exact drawings like meme's and admit its copied from something? .o.
If that's the case, that sort of stuff doesn't bother me at all :3
I think BOTH are delicious .3.
X3 <3
Or people think you just "added wings" to be cool...cause those "people" who do that stop drawing the wings in detail or remove them completely cause they're lazy. Yeah, I do that sometimes, but those times I'm never serious! >:[
I think your grumpiness is affecting me Mr. Studious. I can't seem to be motivated to draw.
It's too DAMN HOT in my room! >:[
ANGRY DOME! >:[
ANNNNNNNNNNGER! >:[
HATE HATE HATE! >:[
But you have a good point there, that's one of my pet-peeves too. Right up there with Equinines and Hyper-herms (since biologically herms have tiny, yet functional sets of both reproductive organs).
FemBae is cool, it's not "FEMALE BAE" :> Perhaps one day you can show the world her sleughty, accident roomate bi-romance adventures, so that everyone can understand <3
i just went with the stick figure i've been using since i was 8
All hope seemed lost, until one day, I start remembering again a character I used to draw before, back in 1999. That character is none other than that little green critter. He was originally going to star in a failed comic about a boy who learns magic, with that (nameless on that time) critter as his animal sidekick/familiar. Somehow, he seemed to be a perfect fit for my personality. So I officially made him my official fursona, and since then, that permanently became the character everyone associates me with. He has also undergone several design updates over the years, from being originally looking like a large rat, to the current taller appearance he is now, with longer ears, fluffier tail, and digitigrade feet.
Regarding gender-bending and stuff... I'm actually opposed by the idea itself. Marwan has always been made a male (because I am male), and he will always remain so, so when he was often mistaken as a female back then, I put-up so much effort in making his torso more and more masculine than ever, just to stop people from calling him a female again. >_< I even start altering the way I draw characters' eyes so I can draw masculine eyes more correctly. Though, if you want, the "closest" thing that would be considered as the female version of my fursona is this character I've drawn, Marnelly Green Critter, which can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/30649/ However, she's based from my late RL elder sister, who is a stillborn, and that picture I've drawn is my attempt at visioning her as a furry of the same species as I am (because she's my sister, anyway). So, technically, she's not me in female mode at all, but a completely separate character with her own separate personality.
and dude...girl bunnies= love
how could you not keep her around!
Ohhhhhh Conejo! Wa Wa Waaaaaaaaaa
But I'll draw her up more, that's for sure.
Different people as the descriptions says
Related actually, so you're talking about INCEST, buster brown! >:I
