Phloppy Bunny gets a Chipmunk Kingdom Loin Cloth
Phloppy Bunny: Oh gee..I-I don't know Tammy
Tamias: Go on out there, Bun Bun You look perfect X33

phloppybunny has rejoined my Chipmunk Kingdom group in Second Life and I put him in as group officer, Phloppy needed to be fitted with Chipmunk Attire to prep him for his new roll. I'd say he looks rather studly in that loin cloth. Would't you say? X33

C3PO quote from Return of the Jedi (Talking to the head of the Ewoks) : We are now part of the tribe!
^.^ Feels good to be part of the Chipmunk Kingdom tribe once more, but it sure takes some getting used to this loincloth deal compared to my usual baggy rave pants and 60's tye-dye hippie T-shirt.
lol
Seriously though, this turned out VERY epicly done, Tamias! *Nods*
Thank yoo agains immensely! ^.^

I'd need a bit of reassurance myself, were I in Phloppy's ...erm... not-shoes. I rather like this scene. With one image, it tells so much of the story going on.
So, is there significance to the colors of the feathers? or is it an outfit-oriented style, to have feathers that match your loincloth?

In the Chipmunk Kingdom society a male chipmunk's loin cloth features a pattern that is unique to him and thus identifies who that chipmunk is. He along with the females that male has claimed wear these patterns. This next part I'm still tuning and tweaking. But tentatively I have that His off spring wear their father's patterns as well until they grow up. When male offspring grow up and go out on their own, they will then receive unique patterns of their own while the female offspring wear blank loincloths until they are claimed by a male. It works in much the same way in how the patterns of a Scottish kilt identifies families and clans only in chipmunk society the patterns identifies a male, his females, and his offspring.
As for the feathers they are color coordinated for aesthetic purposes. However in formal occasions, a male will wear a head dress adorned with what are called status feathers. Each feather represents a female he has claimed. In Tamias's case he has 15 feathers on his head dress representing his 15 females. Now this does sound like a dick swinging contest of sorts and admittedly it kinda is. But there is a reason behind the feathers. During mating season male chipmunks tend to be a bit aggressive towards one another as they compete for females. And of course you get young males who tend to be overly ambitious from feeling their oats challenging older, stronger, more established alpha males like Tamias who have allot of experience in fighting for new females and protecting the females they got. Just the sight of 15 feathers on Tamias's head dress when he wears it is usually enough to save those young males from getting their proverbial asses handed to them on a silver platter. In short the status feathers save males from allot of unnecessary fights and injuries.

Awesome! Totally makes sense. I have a similar system with my Leonin characters: the males wear a loincloth with their family crest; pretty much everything in Leonin society is family-based, so a lot of an individual's status is defined by his crest. although I'm not sure about females. The one female Leonin I've drawn doesn't wear her family crest, so I may adopt a part of your system, but really Tia is a special case, so I'm not sure if I will have to. I love learning about your kingdom, Tamias! Keep up the good work!
