You'd think the obvious choice for a Halloween costume for Voltage would be Static. But since people already get them mixed up, I went with another, yet sadly neglected black electric superhero: Black Lightning! I can totally see him being his mentor ^^

I have a bunch of the old Black Lightning comics. I've always loved the hell out of that character, it's a damn shame he doesn't get more use and respect. I mean, don't get me wrong, I've got Dwayne McDuffie's run of Static comics too, love it... I just don't see why some people act like Static makes BL obsolete or something.
And yeah, I could totally see BL mentoring Static. The "Soul Power" char on Static Shock was basically Black Lightning, except they had to change a few things so they wouldn't have to pay licensing to use the char
My point is: great pic and great taste!

He could go the drag way and dress up as Storm!
He just has to downplay that he only has lightening and no other elements.
Although to their credit, Marvel has always been better at coming up with creative names for their black super-heroes than DC. DC usually says Black-whatever.

It must be irksome for African-American heroes.
