Cell shading isn't actually that hard. Your just using lighter and darker versions of the color your using (or in Photoshop thats the dodge and burn tools, for MSpaint the rightclick for the magic eraser)
You don't suck, your just at that cartoony stage where it looks cool and fun and everyone can start apresiating your work while you slowly start getting more professional.
