It had seemed like such a good idea at the time. Get a couple of Rare Candies, bump up Riolu's level a few times, have her learn Force Palm and then take on the Gym Leader in Aspertia City with a strong fighting-type.
That was the plan, however Rare Candies aren't cheap. Leaving the local PokeCenter/Mart, our trainer found a man selling Pokemon-enhancing drugs on the street, though it didn't seem like he was doing much business. Perhaps it was the weird way he was dressed, but people just kept walking by the poor man like he didn't even exist.
Pokemon-enhancing drugs weren't uncommon, as HP up and PP up were some of the most popular. You did have to be careful of knock-off drugs however, as side effects from off-brand or no-name medicines weren't predictable or safe. from out-of-control rampages to debilitating illness, Pokemon and people could get hurt from side effects of poorly concocted medicines.
This man, however, was peddling completely new items for Pokemon power-ups. Some of the ingredients he claimed were in them sounded foreign, and some sounded just plain made-up. But when he offered a Rare Candy GT, Trainer's eyes lit up. Never one to miss an opportune sale, this salesman went in for the kill with a claim of 'more power than even ten Rare Candies could ever provide your Pokemon, at a fraction of the cost!'
Suspicion crept over Trainer's face at that remark. Why was it so cheap if it was so powerful? The salesman deflated at this, and responded: "Look kid, I've been trying to sell some of this stuff for a week in this town and nobody's biting. It's not a great time for entrepreneurs to be going out and trying to find people to buy new stuff, especially Poke-drugs, considering what could happen with side-effects. But I'm desperate, and you're my only customer so far, so I'll cut you a great deal."
Money was exchanged, gratitude was had, and Trainer went off with a super-powerful Rare Candy.

Later that day, Trainer and Riolu were relaxing at home, Trainer preparing lunch and Riolu watching a children's show on T.V. Sometimes he could swear that Riolu was just a human kid trapped in a Pokemon's body. But then what would you expect from a Pokemon raised by a trainer from an egg?
After lunch, Trainer showed Riolu the small candy that he had gotten her from the salesman, and told her it would make her stronger than she could imagine. Her eyes lit up at this, and she began jumping up and down on the couch in happiness. Candy for desert and a power boost? It really was better than she could dream of!
Less than thirty seconds later, the candy having been devoured in a frenzy of happiness and ravenous desire for sweets, Riolu's head burst through the ceiling, while her feet tore enormous holes in a wall. Trainer rushed outside as quickly as he could, holding his head in disbelief. Ten times stronger than a normal Rare Candy yes, but this was a side-effect that he wasn't prepared for!
Riolu looked at herself in disbelief, wondering if she had fallen asleep watching television and was now dreaming that she was a giant. But no, then she wouldn't have felt pain as her head broke through the roof. She gazed down at her now-tiny trainer, who looked back at her with fear and disbelief. Tears began to well in the giant Pokemon's eyes as she realized that something bad had happened because of her.
********************************************
Two weeks passed, and the giant Riolu's growth was now nearly global news. The hunt for the man who had sold the 'corrupted' Rare Candy was still underway as he had disappeared shortly after that day he make the sale to the trainer. The Riolu and trainer however, were just fine now that the Pokemon League had stepped in.
Replacement housing was being constructed for both trainer and Pokemon, while a rental airplane hanger was being used as a temporary shelter.
The interviews hadn't stopped since the first day, when the Riolu and trainer sat in the wreckage of their own home, law enforcement and emergency services swarming the premises, Riolu holding onto her only family in the world for dear life, wondering fearfully what would happen to them. The interviews were good money though, and keeping his now very big girl fed was the first priority for trainer.
The League intervened soon after as Cheren arrived with Alder, ex-champion of Unova. With such a unique case and a terrified Pokemon, they were taken to a much more secluded area and interviewed for clarity. Alder advised that full support be given to both trainer and Pokemon, and an eye be kept on both of them for the time being.
Fortunately, the majority of expenses would be paid for by the League, including food costs while minor services were required in return. Interviews were a major part of the deal as the League was undergoing some rather rough publicity, and a boost in image was desperately needed. Riolu and Trainer had no complaints about this, and Riolu very quickly became enamored with seeing herself on T.V. Within a month of the growth incident, Trainer recieved a phone call from PokeStar Studios, asking if they would be interested in acting in a brand-new Riolu Kid Saga.
The answer was a rather ecstatic "Yes" from Riolu.

Holy Crap, I did it again.
Apologies for the novel length of this one, I really didn't mean for it to go this long. It is, however kind of based on a real story, as the plan for my facing Cheren in Black/White 2 was to get a Riolu (ended up getting one from Dream Radar) and level up to learn Force Palm before taking on the Gym. It just took so freaking LONG to get there, that this story just kind of manifested out of my frustration with the game.
This was also kind of inspired by
HierroTatsu's character Roak the Giant Hyper-Tailed Riolu and his Giant Apples. Besides, Riolu's are just so cute, you just can't help but want them to be a bit bigger!
Comments, both positive and negative are always encouraged and appreciated!

Not bad for a short story. I liked it :D But try to pace the story telling a lil more. Go through the growth a bit more steadily or what kind of antics they get into before the league stepped in n the pokestudio stuff 'w'
ALSO Could use counter against Charen: its not super effective but dealing double the damage you received is pretty bawss :3
ALSO also, Love the picture ^.=.^~

You're right. You're absolutely right. Give me a little bit of time and I'll have this baby re-written much, much better. Maybe it'll even become more than one picture, if I'm lucky. I'll note you when it's all fixed up.
Yeah, but Counter is a defensive move, not an offensive one. Besides, I must have the only game where every time I try to use Counter, the enemy uses Growl or Tail Whip or some status move.
Thank you! -^u^-

Agreed with the previous, although it is partially opinion based. If it wasn't intended to be a growthy story, there's little need to focus on the growth. x3 But you know what I think it should have in that respect. :3 Otherwise quite good, and a cute picture to go with it!
