And the dark and macabre- which often doesn't mesh with my usual toony style. I actually enjoy these kinds of pieces a lot more than I can actually output- namely I have inspiration but no ideas.
For me halloween has always been kind of a tradition with my family, a really big one too. Our entire yard is always decorated to the edges with home made decorations, we decorate the inside of our house, have Halloween prepped theme foods, and we give out the best damn candy out of everyone (King size bars).
So being such a close, to the heart tradition for us, it should come to no surprise its a real close theme to me and I would like to implement it in my artwork more and more.

OH man this came out so cool!!! I love all the stuff going on here. I have always wanted to live somewhere where I could decorate a front yard or something but i never have, no one ever trick or treats at an apartment (or a house in the woods in the middle of nowhere when i was little!) I STILL DECORATE WHERE I CAN ANYWAY.. even if no one ever sees it. XD

No one ever comes to the apartment door. We buy candy.. but no one comes. :( There is no way to see in either if you pass, so inner decor is only enjoyable to us! We decorated our patio thing at the old place, but here it's only visible to the street/redwood trees (if they had eyes..?), not the people in the apartment so it's even worse. >.< Decorations are only for meeee now.
