Submitting the best photo I got of my beloved Pyramid Head costume. Everything was lovingly hand made by yours truly over the course of 8 months, from the baseball-sititched leather skirt to the sword. It was a crazy experience to build everything, and just as amazing to wear it. The helmet alone weighed about 20lbs!
I plan on making Vatiel next <3

O.O *blushblush* thanks so much! I'm so flattered you think so!
Oh wow Deadspace would be so amazing to do, though Isaac's armor is crazy! If there's one thing I've learned from making Pyr-pyr (pet name for Pyramid Head) it is: I CANNOT SEW COSTUMES. Like I seriously eny peeps who can sew, but personally I'm a builder. I mean I hand stitched the skirt, but thats not like real stitching. And man is leather a bitch to sew >.< But anways, I get the feeling the armor would be more building, less sewing anyways, so I might be able to help ya out, if you need to bounce around ideas.
I also learned to use unorthodox things to create pieces. For example, the helmet is made of: Cardboard wrapped in duct tape, then matte baord was glued on. To this I applied foamboard for body, and then tons of plumbing bits and tubing for the details. The metal grating is nylon rope over mesh, and I also paper-mache'd it to give it a metal texture. The sword was a broken hockeystick that I glued camping pads to, and then covered in matte board, which was then spraypainted along with the helmet (which also has a crapton of leather padding where the shoulders go cuz this baby was heavy!)
So yeah, sometimes crazy materials are awesome. I know a Tali cosplayer used a 2liter bottle for the facemask :D
For the armor parts I'd suggest using wonderflex, its awesome heat-moldable plastic. I've seen it used to make WoW armor, and I think it's pretty light too.
Also, I'd reccomend derping around on cosplay.com for a while. I guarantee someone has made Isaac by now, and you can find some really good ideas, and filter out the bad ones :) It's really helpfull
Wow, sorry for the massive text! You just made me so happy to be thinking about how to make costumes again! I don't have enought time to build costumes right now, and I really miss it
