I don't know how his tail-flame really works, but here it looks like it's drawn above his tail, so it would tend to cast a larger shadow of the tail downward. But it would only be visible as far away as the flame itself illuminated, and the tail's shadow might be so large its edges go out into the lawn and get lost in dimness, or go off the frame of the picture.
