I've done some other sketch attempts but this is the fullest and most on-model lineup I have so far to demonstrate different body types. However, being a comic strip, I think one of the most important aspects is differentiation of face, so I'm likely going to do something to focus on head-to-collar models of all Housepets characters as I get to them.
Making sure characters have different "tells" to their body style is important too, however. Fox's body is being made narrower, and he has long legs to give the impression of lankiness, as well as being significantly taller than Bino, who he hangs out with. Bino meanwhile, is shorter and pudgier. Getting a "set" look for Bino is important because his model has varied wildly and he keeps getting confused for his brother Joey. Joey's fur shade will change slightly to help, but their heads will look significantly different from one another (Joey's gonna be "spikier")
The ferrets then are going to have the most radical change, shifted shorter with longer bodies. I've tried doing this on occasion in the comic but have had an issue because I don't have a style sheet from which to work, only past models, which causes the models to vary.
I'm hoping to add in other art aspects that might help the new style: Some color changes (Fox's base coat will be darker) to outlines for the fur of all characters (some patterned characters I have not done outlines for their fur before, this will regularize the system) etc.

I liked Bino so much, pudgy dog!
King is still awesome and I'm kinda start to like Fox's new design.
Max still looks weird to me though. I'm actually very happy with all that's going on.
I started re-reading the comic from the start and noticed how I missed the first arcs when there was more character development.
I hope to see more obscured characters like Rex after this.
