you'll have to excuse the crappy scan, but the point is made here...
to all of you out there wanting to draw for cartoon, or animated movies, or even gaming cutscenes, then at some point in time, you will need to make a storyboard. storyboards are pieces showing frames in a specific moment in time and this is one I mad coming from my long since passed Acting in Movement college class.
from what my prof told me, your storyboard panels should cover key moments in time during a scene. remember, that the art on your storyboards isn't supposed to be fully detailed, but basic forms of characters. in mine, I made squares on a piece of drawing pad paper, filled them in with basic shapes, and underneath each square, made a time. remember, moments on film are measured in frames and on mine, it shows the time in second, frame.
this gives the animation team the blueprints: the first animator draw the key frames as seen in the storyboard, then the second team draw all of the frames inbetween these... it's a long process
