Did some testing with some watercolor plus Noodler's Kuprin ink - it's the red in the image - on some cheap watercolor paper. This ink is blacklight reactive and glows a nice orange/pink/red color. You can see this on my fingers in the upper right-hand corner of the photograph.
I may try something like this again to see if I can find some watercolor paper that fluoresces less. It was a little difficult to photograph this since the filters in my camera were preoccupied with the white-blue of the paper and less with the radioactive orange-red. I tried to balance it the best I could, but the photo is pretty lame looking compared to the IRL appearance.
Don't drink and draw, kids.

was it UV-orange like lazer tag ?
the ink effects in the BG are really cool.
maybe do a cliche image of smoke pouring out of the mirror,
and engulfing the room and the character being greeted by the new
dimension.

more on the art, this is like a lamb with bloody tear markings streaming
down her neck. Good Work on her.
