Sally Redesign Explained
So that's how Sally lost her cheek fur! :D
I don't read the comics, so I'm not 100% sure what's up with that redesign and all, or even if Sally is as much of a b*tch as people say she is. So, don't blame me if you don't get a chuckle out of this.

let's put it this way...He was never able to do any of that stuff in the original cartoon, and he didn't even have the ability to keep himself and King Acorn from turning to crystaline forms, so what makes you think he could take the complexities involved in robotics and reverse that without any concequences? Ixis has shown to be marginally powerful by Mobian Standards, but in comparison to most other big bads in the Sonic Universe, Ixis is a lightweight.
I don't know much about this site yet, so it took me awhile to find your post. If you think a character from one part of a franchise should adhere to all the rules of another part of the franchise, you are sadly mistaken. Just because Naugus's powerset in SatAM differs from that in the comics doesn't make his new ability a plot hole. Do you consider it a plot hole that Sonic doesn't do half of the stuff that Comic Sonic can pull off?
it's a mcguffin. The same sort of "Let's pull something out of our backsides because we don't have any other logical way to resolve this within the character's current abilities, so let's give him an ability that makes no sense to the character's backstory, history, etc, and take away one of the challenges another character has had to overcome or otherwise deal with...and, let's do one better, let's take away all of that character's special abilities that were granted by that particular dilemma and make them pretty much just a normal mobian again (IE: Bunnie Rabbot)..the writers for the latest series of comics are shit, just absolute shit, and have been since Sega got directly involved with the process, on top of Penders' shenanigans forcing their hand into rebooting the continuity...And since it's just my opinion on the matter, discussing it is kinda moot.
It wasn't completely out of nowhere. Naugus was going through all sorts of crazy stuff because of the Super Genesis Wave. Plus he gained the power of a Chaos Emerald, to boot. It's likely he never used one before, especially one that came about after the reunification. All the Chaos Emeralds in the universe fused together into seven emeralds, and nothing like that ever occurred in the world before
The problem, SEGA and DiC were so tight with their information, the Archie group only had a Xerox'd B&W show bible of the characters when they were first starting the comic. So they used a color as best that they could determine from this copy. They didn't actually see the true colors until the show premiered, and by then many issues were already in production with the wrong color. Same thing with the name change from Boomer to Rotor. The show bible says Boomer, but the actual name in the show was Rotor.
Sonic has more canons than an 1812 overture. I just learned to enjoy each one for what it was worth, though I only read the comic up until, oh, issue 120 or so.
Off topic: SatAM was great, at least once Ben Hurst joined the show, but there's still a place in my heart for AoSTH. Scratch is awesome.

Naw, she's not. she has a temper and the slap thing happened after she thought Sonic died when he got zapped across the galaxy and was missing for a year. And he refused to give up heroing, putting her in the position of probably losing him again, permanently.
Everyone has a breaking point. That was hers.

I stopped caring about the sonic comic when they slowly made her into some kung fu goddess early on.
I liked her in satam because she wasn't perfect in every single way. I also think her pre-vest season 1 look was her best look.....i'll admit it, she was my first furry crush.
while I hate the redesign, it won't stop artists from drawing her the old way and it won't suddenly make my satam dvd's stop working. so, in the grand scheme of things, this redesign is very small.

My biggest argument with the redesign is it makes her look like a 7 year old, instead of the 17+ she's supposed to be.
And Ian Flynn, the current writer on the book, has called Sally and all of the SatAM characters "old, out-dated, niche characters." Old, out-dated, niche characters that only kept the comic book alive for 20 years...no other comic based on a video game has ever run continuously this long. This created such a run of disgust against the redeign and his comment that he had to backtrack and run damage control by proclaiming "And I’m not the only one who listens to fan-input. So maybe it will be tweaked. Or maybe this is the final design. You’ll have to wait and see." Note, he just writes the book. He draws NOTHING, so he's the last one I'd listen to about final designs. It's out of his hands.
