The design inspiration came from Lackadaisy(by tracyjb) I love her art and comic. ^^ But the idea of it was more in tune from the Hobbit. I guess I was wondering about a strange anthro cat race living in nearly complete isolation evolved into a hobbit-like race. Here's some back story..

A small, curious but cunning race, their kind inhabit a small chain of islands who their kind was named after, the Kate Isles. It's believed that they're descended from an ancient jungle cat from the south whom became bipedal for unknown reasons. But a small group of those ancient cats ended up on the Kate Isles and evolved into the Kate today. They've become intelligent and created a small but evolved culture. Building small towns and fishing villages. They're not wildly known by the outside world and they prefer to stay on their home islands, away from the dangers of the outside world. At times there are a few brave ones who's curiosity drives them far from their home. These few rarely return home but when they do they bring knowledge and tales of their wanderlust.
