This is one of my two Telodeinopus assiensis millipedes named "Citrus" :3 The colours of this species are so highly variable, that the other one I own is less yellow and more dark brown, hence he is called "Schoko" which means "chocolate" ^^
They are very active and visible day and night, while my Spirostreptidae spec. 1 (named "Baguette") is only visible at the evening and during the night.
I keep giant millipedes for 7 years now and already owned 10 different species, even managed to breed the biggest of 'em all, the Archispirostreptus gigas which is one of the three species I'm keeping right now. These animals are not dangerous nor frightening, they are almost completely harmless. They have a exudate containing cyanide, but mine don't often use it. It is necessary to wash hands after handling millipedes, and in the worst case, the exudate can leave brown spots on your skin that don't go away by washing. But they will vanish after several weeks. I've had such a spot on my tummy after thoughtlessly scratching there right after I moved a new millipede in its new terrarium ^^
So don't be scared of them, that's silly. They are vegetarians.
