There might be some confusion, so I am going to clear it up with this one simple post.
Here are the three signatures I have used on my artwork. Though they are different, they are all the same person. My N's may be more wide, but they are generally the same.
1 - This was my signatures before I was married.
2 - My signature after I got married, which I still use for pictures I draw for IRL friends and family. They do not know me by my SN, they know me by my real name, so I sign it using my real name.
3 - My SN signature, which most of you may know me by.
So, if you are browsing my work, see a signature change, then this will help to explain why.

There is no sure fire way to prevent thieft. People can trace the picture and leave the signature out or miss that particular detail. Hiding a signature or watermarking a picture only prevents them from editing the original, or reposting. It does not stop them from tracing or eyeballing it.
