[Another quick homestuck. 2/3. Lesbians. I don't own Homestuck. c: ]
“Rose? Are you doing alright?” Kanaya asked cautiously, peeking into her wife’s bedroom. It had been four years since they had won their session of Sburb. Dave lived with John in their apartment down in Texas; Jade and Karkat had been dating for three years now and it was only a matter of time before Karkat asked the question. Rose decided to stay with Kanaya, and with every day that passed, Kanaya found she loved Rose even more; the same held true for the other. They truly were perfect.
But something was itching at Kanaya: Something soft, almost undetectable. But it was there, like a nagging, bugging mosquito that stayed just close enough for the buzz to sound, but not within reach to grasp. Subconsciously, she knew something was going wrong.
She didn't realize how wrong.
“Kanaya. You need to leave.” Rose was abnormally calm for some strange reason; maybe it was the influence of the Horrorterrors, maybe it was her trying not to overly frighten her wife, maybe even both. Black, tar like liquids seeped into the white carpet, dripping off of her orchid cardigan and slithering down her arm.
“R-Rose? What’s going on?”
Rose sighed, turning to face her lover. Kanaya saw that her brightly colored eyes were dimming into a darker shade of plum. “Kanaya, please. If you love me, you’ll leave. I’ll kill you, and I would rather spend the rest of eternity without seeing you again than spend the rest of eternity knowing I wouldn’t because you had died at my hands. There’s nothing you can do—The Horrorterrors caused this, and nothing can stop them.” She chuckled darkly, before adding, “We know how they can be.”
“Rose—Rose, no, we can fix this, we can change you back—”
“Stop.”
Her transformation was nearly complete. Gone was the woman that Kanaya had grown to love; gone was the caring, gentle demeanor of her Seer of Light. All that was left was a shadow, a husk, a puppet of The Dark Gods that was in the form of Rose Lalonde.
“Rose?” Kanaya whispered, clinging to the one hope that she could bring her back.
The grey-skinned lady drew up a needle from her pocket—Kanaya recognized it immediately: A Thorn of Oglogoth. With a sudden feeling of calmness and serenity, she realized she was about to die.
Without hesitating, Kanaya slowly stepped torwards her wife. “Rose…I know you don’t understand me. But I just want you to know,” she said quietly, jade-tinted tears streaming from her face, “that I will always love you. Forever and ever.”
With that said, the troll reached out and pulled the woman into an embrace, kissing her.
The last thing she felt before she was run through with her soul mate’s dark magic was the lavender-and-coconut shampoo that Rose favored so much.
