Only suggestion beyond that I could make is to visit nycgo.com, nyc.gov/visitors/ and check out $9.99 to get ideas on where to go before you get here. Oh, and reach out to the http://www.furaffinity.net/user/nyfurs folks to see what if anything they could offer to help make the time well spent.

Have a nice flight rotarr, there are many sights to see. Buildings, nightlife lights, and all the McDonald's in a block away.

The Museum of Natural History in NY is amazing. Although if you plan to see all of it, it'll take several days. Central park is pretty awesome if it's warm enough that they don't have the most of it closed off. As stated before, get a metrocard, preferably an unlimited 7-day one. If your hotel has one, make use of the concierge; they generally know great places to eat or hang out.
