Now you may have seen the data on this aircraft on my FA site before ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/878763/ ) or the original draft in my "scraps" gallery ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/490039/ ), but this is the true, DEFINITIVE appearance of the F9A1 Griffon.
It is almost like a hybrid the F-15 Eagle and Su-27 Flanker. The wings, stabilizers, tails, gun placement, long LERX, and tilted airscoops are all trademarks of the Su-27. However, the fuselage fairing, canopy, high/close-set intake placement, lack of a tail "stinger", and lack of dorsal fins are more like the features of the F-15. It also has features found on both the F-15 and Su-27 --- the gun is on the same side, the tails are set at 90 degrees, and the large centrally-placed airbrake is there as well.
The Griffon is not an entirely unoriginal design though... it also has a few distinctive features that you will never see on an F-15 or Su-27. Note the cranked LERX, hound's-tooth gap between the LERX and spoilers, cylindrical thrust nozzles, and trailing edge gap extensions between the elevators and ailierons --- these all give the Griffon an entirely different presence, if you know what to look for.
