They don't itch me quite as mutch, but with West Nile now, I don't like them any better now than before. I read once that the buzzing of a mosquito is something we're attuned to hear so we can know they're around, like we developed an automatic recognition over evolution. (All theory...but interesting.)

I'm the same way with mosquitoes. A mosquito buzzing in your ear is so unnerving. Most types of spiders die the moment I see them too. They don't even have to move for me to see them. I'll be walking in my house and my eyes will just see it, wherever it is lol.

I almost never leave comments myself. A fav should speak louder than some generic "nice pic" comment.

in some way I like to comment to say what is good in the picture and what I like there
sort of helps to the artist to know what to keep and what to improve more...
but I must admit, lately I haven't been commenting much with the longer type comments :/

Yep, if its inside, it dies. I won't risk a bite later (like when I'm asleep) by letting it live when I see it. A videogame case is my preferred weapon lol.

True. Some don't like critique though. Especially on commission work. You never know what might offend someone. I dunno, I'm usually pretty quiet anyway so I tend to only leave comments when I really really like a particular piece. Or sometimes when they ask for it and I think I have something useful to say.
Today was a bit different though. Skunkworks is killing off his skunkettes (its the last comic anyway) and in a graphic car-wreck way. I really hope that this is just a dream sequence, and that the end of their last comic will actually be something great. It is hard to hold my tongue right now. I am a fan of some dark, more graphic art, but I really like those skunks and it actually hurts to see them die like that. It would be better to just not make another comic if he isn't interested in the characters anymore, rather than doing this...
