I just got back from a weekend in Chicago =)
On Saturday, I walked from Water Tower Place to Sears Tower, to Buckingham Fountain, to Shedd Aquarium, took a water taxi to Navy Pier, and walked several blocks back to my hotel. I won a total of $75 in bets (the bets being first making it to Sears Tower, then from there to the fountain, from there to Shedd Aquarium, then back to Navy Pier, then to the hotel without taking a cab. Also, I could earn $15 extra for going out on the lake at some point), and let me tell you what, the lake was friggin cold! Not as cold as I expected, but I'm glad I'm a Michigander, otherwise I would have given in before making it to the Sears Tower.
And yes, I realize that it's the Willis Tower, but I don't care :P
I love the view from the Skydeck, but the only problem was taking care of glare off of the window. I couldn't take care of it with a filter or otherwise, so I had to improvise by practically falling over the guardrail to get to the bottom corner of the window XD
Anywho, I may or may not be heading back to the city on Saturday the 17th. Any quick suggestions would be helpful.

Wow, that is great that you managed to win $75 like that! However, as a native Chicagoean I will say that you made easy money there because the distance from those points are not too bad. Also, there is a free trolley that operates between the Roosevelt Avenue CTA El station and the museum campus which might have saved you some time assuming you were allowed to use public transportation.
My hat goes off to you for taking a dip into the lake, but in light of your being from Michigan I am sure that the cold was not something that was too bad. Still, it must have chilled you to the bone to go into the lake!
I really like your photograph from the skydeck of the Sears Tower, and this is a really nice view of the downtown area. One can get some of the best shots from the skydeck of the Sears Tower because there is no obstructions in the way of shots.
As for suggestions on what to do, everything depends on where in the city to where you are going. Are you going back to the Loop, or are you heading into the suburbs?
