I seems like lot, but you got to consider the time it takes to do certain drawings and do it in high quality. Of course, the ref sheet would include 3 sides of the character, descriptions and infomation, and a background. This definitely can't be done in one day. I seem relatively cheap compared to some other artist I've seen that charge $100 or $200. But of course they have more demand for them, and for some, it's their only source of income.
Hope it explains why I have to charge this price.
