I actually did this particular painting last year. It's been pardoned to a friend I might never see again, and fortunately I snapped a picture beforehand. I love this sort of environment, though fortunately or unfortunately I haven't seen a ghost as disturbing as that one.

I've had enough weird experiences to make me a believer, although I have seen one full bodied apparition (nothing special about it, just the imprint of a human shape). I was a wee lad; scared me so bad I had night terrors until I was like 12.

If I saw this as a kid, it probably would have generated some fears of abandoned buildings or the basement or something.
