Yeah, seems that way. Maybe if it were based situationally per joke you might find mirth, instead of basing it out of a sourpuss holier-than-thou personality?
Weed isn't "trendy", it's been used for almost the entirety of human history. And for most of the people who smoke, it has absolutely nothing to do with "oh, this is a DRUG! I'm gonna do it and be COOL now.", or any kind of "movement". It is simply an enjoyable pasttime that some people partake in, or use to expand their consciousness.
Finally, being anti-trendy is a type of trend, btw. Oh shit, paradox.

I didn't claim to be anti-trendy. I'm not going to refute the holier-than-thou comment, other than to say that it's not that I think I'm particularly superior, society as a whole has just never been less impressive than today.
Although to say that weed isn't a trend (admittedly a long lasting one, but a trend nonetheless) is insulting to the intelligence of both of us. Some older users are down to earth about it, but most of the ones younger than 30 or so do everything they can to make sure they're seen doing it. Don't give yourselves too much credit, you're trendy, you don't have to.

You didn't have to. To denounce something simply because (you believe) it is trendy is what being anti-trendy is, so your opinions claimed it for you.
You are mistaken. Weed is not a trend. It's long history and the fact that it isn't exactly seen as "fashionable" or "hip" to smoke, except by people who already smoke contradict the very definition of trendy.
Now, you may have run across some silly children who think that drugs are cool, and that by doing drugs -or for that matter alcohol and cigarettes- they become cool themselves (for the record, I do not think anyone under the age of 18 should consume weed), but you should not let that taint your opinion of the rest of us, because that is faulty logic and narrow-minded thinking. That would be like saying that music is trendy because people like to share music with each other, or that alcohol is trendy because people like to talk about it and drink together. You are misunderstanding the nature of what people are doing.
I am under 30, and when I smoked and shared the activity with others, it was because I enjoyed what I was doing, and wanted to share my merriment. I wanted to find like-minded people to share something enjoyable with. There is a drug culture, and it has nothing to do with "being seen doing it" but with sharing something enjoyable with others of a similar mind. Simple as that.
Get off your high horse and you'll see it is only a Shetland pony.

I denounce weed because it serves me no purpose, I don't blow my stress levels out of proportion, nor do I want my friends to think I'm interesting. Believe me, I'd like for you to do a better job at discredited my words, too.
You have to accept that a large part of your "community" is dumb kids or even adults trying to be cool. Your particular affiliation with the stuff is of no real consequence, if you want to think of yourself as an except to the rule then fine but it doesn't change it. And for the record, alcohol is hugely glorified due to its ability to get somebody drunk and foolish, so that's not a great example. People don't celebrate it because of the occasional heart-healthy glass of wine.
Too many people act like being an avid stoner is some big accomplishment. I don't know your stake in this but don't pretend like your group is primarily people who merely share a common interest. Most of my family are stoners and the ones that legitimately just enjoy it don't make a point of plastering "420" on things. But my younger sister who tries desperately to convince me that she has a Bob Marley lighter because she likes his music would fit right in, here.

I will agree that there ARE dumb little twats that are 420 this and Bob Marley that, but that's not what I'm a part of. Personally Ifucking hate Marley. Not that he's a bad person, his music sucks. I'm afraid you can't generalize the crowd of people that smoke marijuana as hipsters.
I will also admit that I do smoke recreationally as well. Getting a group of close friends together and smoking is a great way to relax and enjoy the evening. well sports are pointless and I don't watch TV if I'm going to do anything I'm going to sit at home I'm a smoke weed and I'm going to smoke hookah it's relaxing. Also I'm actually using google voice to do this so don't try to correct my grammar I don't fucking care.

That's kind of stupid, and a waste of time. Do you denounce everything that serves you no purpose, or just things that others enjoy? Not everyone who has stress blows it out of proportion, and just because someone has more than you do does not necessarily mean they are blowing anything out of proportion. What is the point, really? it's not as though anyone is making you partake (although after speaking to you for this short amount of time, I would definitely suggest you find -something- to lighten up your stuffy personality. If not weed, sex, perhaps?). But, it is good that you don't make up excuses for things (I am quite certain your friends would not make that mistake about you). People who do that are not welcome additions to the marijuana community, because -and your opinions prove this point- they make the rest of us look bad. But, regardless of where and however you've gotten your impressions about them, they are not the majority.
I know there are people your sister (for the sake of argument, I'll assume she isn't a Raggae fan. Although I'd like to understand how you can presume to know what someone's what their tastes in music are better than they do, especially when they are telling you you're wrong in your assumptions. Do you find it fun to counsel others on their own opinions? Is it because your own are so vapid?), I never denied this, however, the greater majority are not.
No one, even the loser kids, acts like being a stoner is an "accomplishment", and they invariable move past that phase or stop smoking. We're simply sharing something we view as fun and beneficial to our lives. Where in the world did you get the idea that being a stoner is some big cool contest? Lol, this really is the silliest thing I have heard in my life. Well, almost. Gay republican not withstanding, this is the most nonsensical conclusion someone could come to. My group IS made up of people who share a common interest, as a stoner for over ten years, and the creator of this group, someone who has been around and spoken to hundreds of potheads, I can tell you, solidly and without a hint of insincerity- for the majority of potheads, weed is not about being cool, or trendy, or anything other than enjoyment and/or medicine. Period.
From your profile, I can tell that this next part will be a difficult thing to understand, so I will break it down for you: You. Are. Mistaken.
Accept it and move on.

That's the nice thing about being as arrogant as I am, it takes one hell of a debater to make me admit that I'm mistaken. It's laughable because you saying that the weed community isn't largely based on looking cool or rebellious is like how Minnesota for Marriage claims that their anti-gay marriage stance isn't based on religion despite all of their supporters being churches or faith-based establishments. It's just so obvious, man.
The difference here is that I'm not making any claims about you personally, just stoners in general, I even conceded that maybe your stake in the habit differs. I'm accusing you of giving an interest of yours more credit than it's due but I'm not questioning your character or personality. If you have to resort to that then I guess that exemplifies the lack of confidence in your argument better than I ever could.

The downside of that arrogance is that it doesn't allow you to realize when you're wrong either. To me, you are the one who appears blind to your own motivations, because you have a little theory based completely off of a misunderstanding and a sense of superiority. Your comparison only seems obvious to you because you have set your mind to defending that assumption, regardless of whatever objection you hear- much like the anti-marriage churchies. The opposite is QUITE obvious to anyone who knows the truth.
As someone outside looking in, don't you realize that someone like me might know what I'm talking about just a little better than you? How is it laughable, just because I can see nothing funny, really. I am telling you the truth, and you're just flat out ignoring it. You aren't even giving proper defense for your assertion at all. I have given you the reason for how you came to a mistaken conclusion, and you offer no real rebuttal, except to parrot the same opinion over and over. But, if you steadfastly refuse to see the truth, then you don't need to admit anything. It's no skin off my back because you're the one who looks foolish with your half-baked opinion. I frankly don't really care if you go around mistaken for the rest of your days.
Make all the claims about my personality you want, enough of it to glean an idea is posted for all to see right <url=http://furaffinity.net/user/IWantYo.....ere</url> on my profile page. =3 Just as yours is. Your guess is wrong, however (and that is a dismissive opinion to have
). My pointing out your personality flaws actually bolster my argument. It is obviously because of them that you feel the way that you do. You are a contrary person, one of those that has to look down at things or else they might feel less assured in their own self worth, I believe the term is superiority complex. You are questioning the motives of an entire community of people, so I'm just pointing out yours.

It's actually an inferiority complex that I have, but it doesn't manifest itself in my opinions, those are strictly based on my likes, dislikes, and experiences. My inferiority complex more makes me get ridiculously upset about something trivial going wrong, but strangely allows me to take huge disasters in stride. I'm certain that means nothing to you but if you're going to make false claims about me I feel I should correct them.
And what do you expect me to do, name every stoner-poser I've ever met? It's been thousands, man. Couldn't I say that you're just repeating yourself as well? And on your point about how you'd know more about it than I would, that might be true, but it seems more likely that in the case of something like this you'd be irrationally defensive about it. You tell me that you know more because you do it, and I'm telling you nearly my entire family does the stuff and I've long since been around it, I've seen the "gatherings" seen the deals, talked to the people who were always around. You could make an argument that we both see just about as much of the activity, the difference being I'm not biased in favor of it because I don't smoke it. Smoking weed doesn't mean you know something I don't, other than the sensation attained upon inhalation.
Regardless, I'm not contrary for the sake of contrary but it wouldn't be the first time people have made that assumption. It's fair to say that neither one of us knows the other so trying to point out personality defects, to borrow your term, would make us look "foolish." Especially since I'm well aware of my defects and will share them with anybody who seeks them.

I study psychology, so actually, it does mean something to me, it tells me you do not know what you are talking about. A superiority complex is not when a person feels superior- it is when they pretend to be superior as a defense mechanism for feelings of inferiority. An inferiority complex is nothing more or less than (varying strong degrees of) low self esteem, until it turns outward and becomes a superiority complex or even Narcissism. If you had an inferiority complex alone, you would not present the way you do.
I expect you to explain your position with facts, or proofs of any kind based upon more than a single connected source (your own family). You can't have met thousands and still be so ignorant about us, unless it were willful. Perhaps been around thousands, but certainly not actually met. No, actually, you couldn't say that since, as I pointed out- I gave evidence for the misunderstanding, instead of just stating "nu-uh" repeatedly, as you have. I am not irrationally defensive, since I have no reason to be. What does one person's meaningless (by that I mean that you have no political or legislative sway) opinion matter? I know more because not only have (not do, I told you I haven't smoked in over a year) I smoked, but I have known -personally- hundreds of stoners from all walks of life, and of those I have not met a single one who was in it for cool points. I know there must be children who do this, but the stoner community is not made up of them. What gatherings have you been to, exactly? I definitely would not make that argument, at all. I do not know how much you have actually seen, especially as an outsider. Again, from your ignorance, I must assume you are exaggerating your actual level of immersion. I don't smoke it either. Having smoked means I know more people inside than you, and have gone deeper into the culture than you have.
Perhaps that is the key to why you have your opinion? You have stayed (with the exception of your family) on the fringes with the "posers", so that has skewed your insight.
How can you speak the way you do, have the opinions you do and still try and claim not to be pointlessly contrary? Perhaps not for it's own sake, but for the amusement or positive feelings being so gives you. If people make that assumption about you often, perhaps you should examine what you're doing to give people that impression?

You study psychology, huh. That's somewhat hypocritical, you're giving me hell for labeling stoners yet claim to be able to label something as complex as the human mind. But I'll leave that alone, I've met enough psychology experts on the internet to know most of them are BSing me.
And you've already admitted to seeing the kind of people that I have, we just disagree on their numbers. I'm willing to admit that there are stoners out there who aren't idiots, but you refuse to believe that a significant number of stoners are just attention seeking posers. We will most likely have to agree to disagree on it. But since I like to repeat myself, I'll say it again - anybody who needs to publicly plaster "420" on things is seeking attention based on the fact that they smoke weed, and in my opinion, it's not something anybody should base their outward personality on unless they don't have one to begin with.
I don't change for people, and I may correct their opinions on me on an individual basis but I'm not very concerned with trying to say all the right things on my page to make people "get" me.

Yes, I do. I honestly don't understand how you came to the conclusion that I am a hypocrite there.. I'm not "giving you hell", I'm trying to correct a cockeyed assumption- nor is what I'm saying about labeling. You are claiming that people can not enjoy something simply because they talk about enjoying it- that makes no sense. Psychology is the study of the mind, and any "labeling" is for the ease of explanation, not enforcing a pre-determined definition upon a condition as you seem to be implying. Please, in the future, learn about things to a greater degree before you form opinions about them, this is the second time I have seen you fail to do so. Yes, I am aware most people with access to google can act like they know a little something about psychology (like you). I genuinely study it, however, else I wouldn't have bothered mentioning it, and I wouldn't have been able to correct your mistakes.
Yes, I have seen them, but not -met- any. There is a difference. There is no need to believe in someone else's mistake. You can admit the truth, because it is the truth. I refuse to accept something that I know is not true. The greatest proportion of stoners are not interested in it for "cool points", period. You just perceive what you see improperly and draw the wrong conclusion about the cause of it. That is the simple truth of the matter. Nobody "needs" to put 420 on anything. It is an identifier of a trait, not something personality has been built upon. You've drawn the wrong conclusion, and apparently since it allows you to feed your superiority, you won't have truth foisted upon you. There is nothing that can be done against willful ignorance, so I suppose I must agree to allow you to continue to be wrong. Have it and enjoy, I suppose.
The change was suggested to benefit yourself, not for others. Then don't act like people getting you wrong is such a burden, if you have no interest in avoiding it.

Your only argument that you know more is because you smoke it. Which...means nothing dude.
Anybody can "study" psychology, you don't impress me with that, it's like philosophy - there's always a way to turn it into a right answer.
You're not great at making yourself look like you know what you're saying. In fact I'm sure you're only response to that will be to turn it around on me. I suppose I wouldn't expect the representative of "420Furs" to be much more impressive. But I commend you for the effort, all the same. You're alright, man.

one day
all the crimes that would be reduced
all the research that will be done
all the medical practices that will be advanced
all the herbologist jobs that will prosper
all the new farmer work that will be provided
all the many jobs that will come from testing, packing, harvest, and producing.
all the depressions that will go down
all the fights that will disappear
all of the legalization
but first, we must wait for the current dusk to fade away into existence
so our fight for the new dawn
will finally show
it's first bud.

aww thank you (^..^)
just spread, and keep fighting the good fight ok?
i want to see research done on this within the next five years, recreational use is something i want yes.
but my main desire is to see what it can be done in, and with medicine, as well as how much it can advance medical science...
