Hoppy Halloween, everyone!
Well, I wasn't quite able to get everything released that I wanted to tonight, but here's the primary project I was working on. This is my addition to a fun little comic crossover party that's going down at ComicGenesis.com called the Halloween Costume Swap 2012. Basically, your cartoon gets paired with another CGer's cartoon, and you dress your characters with the clothes and such of those of the other cartoon. Then, still another cartoon then does the same with yours. It's a fun little exercise in stretching your creativity, and needless to say, can come up with some pretty silly results!
So, in my case, I got teamed up with Vinnie D's comic AntiBunny ( http://www.antibunny.com ), and here's a few of his rather sizable lagomorphic cast. I'll post the treatment I in turn got later.
Until then, don't eat too much candy and I hope you enjoy this treat!

Indeed, that beauty is in fact Julie Louise Longakitty! In my comic, she's an impetuous '80s-loving hopeless romantic (read: psychotic stalker) who has only one true love (read: victim) in her life - the ever hard-to-get (read: running for his life) Leo DeCat. Here, Julie Louise is taking the role of Penelope in Vinnie D's AntiBunny, with Leo taking the role of Pooky (is that the coolest name for or what?). In AntiBunny, as in Critters, Penelope has a hopeless and Titanic-sized crush on Pooky, but it's all a very one-sided love affair. When I set out to find people who had personalities and/or relationships that lined up with Vinnie's cast, this one was easy.
Thanks, Chissy - I'm glad you liked it.
This whole piece was a creative puzzle - not only who of my cast to match with Vinnie's, but also what colors to use. In AntiBunny he never settles on a single color palette - or even have a standard color for the characters themselves for that matter, thus making color choices quite a challenge! For my pic, I tried blending all three palettes in homage - B&W, sepia, and full-color.
I'm also glad you liked the poses. I'm continuously trying to get more and more dynamic posing in my comic, and execises like this are good practice. Glad to hear I'm making progress!
