That's a good way to start off a story. We've got suspense already, bizarre creatures of both metal and flesh, some excellent atmosphere, and now I'm interested to see what all this double-talk is about. :) You've done well for yourself by not explaining a damned thing, that's what I like to see! Looking forward to reading the other parts.
