My hair doesn't like to straighten or curl x.x it just stays wavy...

I have curls and waves in my hair. I'm astonished that it stays straight but oh lord if I sweat, you can forget it. (Sometimes it'll kink up if I'm sweating while straightening given the flat iron is too hot but rarely straighten my hair nowadays.)

That's the only good thing about the consignment shop here. You can find great stuff on the super cheap, but if you sell stuff there, the store rips you off. like..you get 40% of the price you put on the tag, and they get 60%.

I tried to straighten recently, and failed, and then I tried to curl, and failed. my hairdresser says I should be able to straighten it, but I need a better straigtener, and I just don't have 40-50$ lying around to get a great one.

Sounds like Plato's Closet to me. I took two giant TV boxes full of clothes to them and they only bought a small portion of it (and definitely ripped me off) but I did buy a few cute things. :/ Could've been wayyy better if they had bought everything.

I use straighteners from Wal*Mart and dollar stores. O: I even bought a wet2straight one from Wal*Mart and believe me, it's the same as a regular straightener. I tried flat ironing my hair from damp to straight and fried it (thus why it's cut so short now) and I didn't need that on top of being a hair dye addict. O:
